Retirement shouldn't mean slowing down - it should mean finally having time to do the things you actually enjoy!
The Effingham Gentleman's Club was founded on the idea that retired and semi retired men in our area should have a space to meet, share some banter and try out activities they've never had the time (or the crew) to do before.
We're a collection of local men who believe the best way to get to know your neighbours is by doing something active together!

We meet once a month to catch up on what's planned and listen to a guest speaker. Our topics are wide-ranging and different each month.

Activities
Our 'main event' is between the monthly meetings.
​We have a huge number of interest groups for our members and their partners and more are being added all the time. These include, Specific Interest Groups such as Chess & Pickleball, A Taster Group for the 'I've always wanted to try' experience such as Fly Fishing or Archery and a range of Social & Dining Groups such as our Friends & Flavours Group and our amazing Easter, Summer and Bonfire Parties.

If you've recently retired or moved to the area, it can be surprisingly hard to build a new routine or meet like-minded people. We provide a low-pressure, high-reward way to stay active, sharp and connected to your neighbours!
Members are welcome from Effingham, Horsley, Bookham and the surrounding area.

Membership gives you access to all our activities, monthly meetings, refreshments and guest speakers.
